The special-interest trade fair Enforce Tac will take place for the 8th time at Exhibition Centre Nuremberg on Wednesday 6 and Thursday 7 March. Every year, the latest trends in the law enforcement sector are presented at this international trade fair for command, control and operational resources for official security agencies. The European Police Trainer Conference (EPTK), which includes presentations and practical exercises for training and professional development, and U.T.SEC – Summit for Drones, Unmanned Technologies & Security, will both take place parallel to the trade fair.
Thanks to its relocation to hall 12 at Exhibition Centre Nuremberg, the special interest trade fair for command, control and operational resources for official security agencies, which has grown steadily in recent years, now offers more space and new opportunities. On both days of the fair, 304 exhibitors from around the world (2018: 243) will present a comprehensive range of products and solutions for official security experts. The range on display includes guns and ammunition, optics and optronics, information and communications technology, protective equipment and clothing, medical requisites, vehicles and traffic technology. The patron of Enforce Tac 2019 is Horst Seehofer, the German Federal Minister of the Interior, Building and Community.
EPTK: continuing professional development in theory and practice
Since it was established in 1996, the objective of PiD – Police Trainers in Germany – has been to review and improve the quality of professional protection and constantly adapt it to the challenges facing the police service. At the European Police Trainer Conferenceon 6 and 7 March 2019, a series of presentations will cover the latest developments, techniques and technologies, while various training modules provide practical instruction for members of official security agencies and organisations (police, law enforcement, customs etc.) and professional soldiers.
Once again, the EPTK will explore the latest security issues, combining theory and practice, equipment and its applications. In 2019, presentations by international experts from Germany, the USA and Switzerland will highlight topics such as IS and the “holy war”, potential attacks on nuclear power plants, killing sprees and violence in schools, knife attacks and attacks by militant groups against security forces. In addition, speakers will also discuss body cavity scanners, intermediate distance firearms for police and non-lethal bullets and tactical equipment. Simultaneous translations of the presentations will be provided into German/English.
The presentation topics discuss the products offered by exhibitors at the fair and their practical use in day-to-day operations. On the second day of the fair, members of security agencies and organisations can then undertake live training on the handling of modern tactical equipment. The detailed programme for the EPTK 2019 is available online at: www.polizeitrainer.de/en/conferences/
U.T.SEC Summit 2019: use of and defence against drones
The complete shutdown of air traffic at London’s Gatwick and Heathrow airports recently due to unidentified drones above the airport sites not only affected many thousands of passengers but also made clear the risks associated with this technology.
U.T.SEC – Summit for Drones, Unmanned Technologies & Security – will put the spotlight on unmanned aerial objects and vehicles, particularly their use by security agencies. The summit will focus on the technical, legal and practical options for improving public safety through the use of or defence against drones. U.T.SEC’s event partners are UAV DACH e.V., the largest German-language professional association for unmanned aviation in Europe, and VfS, the association for security technology, which deals with security concerns and logistical problems in areas subject to more stringent security requirements.
The patron of U.T.SEC 2019 is the Bavarian Ministry for Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy. U.T.SEC, located in NCC West at Exhibition Centre Nuremberg, is directly adjacent to the Enforce Tac exhibition area and can be accessed free of charge with the Enforce Tac trade visitor ticket.
