Featuring more than 6,000 exhibitors from across the world, HANNOVER MESSE kicks off on April. Under the lead theme of “Integrated Industry – Industrial Intelligence”, participating companies will present every relevant technology along the industrial value chain, demonstrating how industry is positioning itself in an age of artificial intelligence and Industry 4.0 and highlighting the role of highly automated material flows.
Hannover, Germany. Exhibitors at HANNOVER MESSE will be showcasing their complete product portfolios, which often include logistics solutions. SAP for instance will show how digitally interconnected supply chains and commodity flows hold the key to greater efficiency in overall production, while the German-based SICK company from Waldkirch will showcase logistics applications, demonstrating how sensor technology is a decisive factor in the design and development of innovative logistics processes. SSI Schäfer will feature its LogiMat® warehouse lift, which significantly increases warehouse performance as well as the efficiency and flexibility of warehouse and order picking processes.
“HANNOVER MESSE draws decision-makers from around world who come here to discover the latest advances in industrial technology. HANNOVER MESSE offers intralogistics providers an excellent platform to showcase themselves to an international audience in the innovative setting of the world’s leading trade fair for industrial technology,” remarks Arno Reich, Senior Vice President at Deutsche Messe, adding that “the digital factory can only function with intelligent and integrated logistics. This controls manufacturing processes and ensures a smooth internal flow of all goods, services and information. In the age of Industry 4.0, production and logistics are rapidly converging, and HANNOVER MESSE does full justice to this trend.”
As a consequence, logistics will feature even more prominently at HANNOVER MESSE starting in 2020: “As early as 2018, CeMAT was held side-by-side with HANNOVER MESSE. The next step is to sync logistics-related topics with the various display sectors and visitor traffic flow patterns at HANNOVER MESSE. This will ensure that attendees can fully experience how software, IT and automation interact with logistics. In 2020 and thereafter, HANNOVER MESSE will be based on the three pillars of industry, energy and logistics, thus covering the entire industrial value chain.”
The move to integrate logistics with the HANNOVER MESSE lineup of display categories and to also create a dedicated logistics display at the show was called for by the CeMAT advisory committee and explicitly welcomed by the HANNOVER MESSE exhibitor advisory board. Logistics systems providers will in future be located in the direct vicinity of the Automation display sector, while logistics software providers will be integrated into the IT segment (Digital Factory) at HANNOVER MESSE, making it fast and convenient for attending professionals to find the solutions most relevant to them.
