One of the most important growth segments in the security sector is the protection of outdoor sites, property and outdoor boundaries, not just in the case of critical infrastructures like correctional facilities, airports or data centres but increasingly in the private commercial sector as well. At Perimeter Protection, the International Exhibition for Perimeter Protection, Fencing and Building Security, 168 exhibitors and suppliers will showcase their electronic and mechanical security solutions from 14 to 16 January 2020. The figures for what will now be the 6th round of the event show that this special-interest fair is really striking a chord with the sector. Not only has the number of exhibitors increased by 24 percent since the previous event, but the proportion of international companies, at 48 percent, is also much higher than two years ago. The new specialist forum at the heart of the trade fair action provides added value to the more than 4,000 trade visitors that are expected at Exhibition Centre Nuremberg. Another addition this year is the highly topical issue of drone detection and defence, a thematic focus that has special significance.
The need for security, and as a result investment in alarm systems, video surveillance, access controls, locking systems and fencing, are continuing to increase worldwide. And this is precisely where Perimeter Protection comes into play. Alexander Stein, Director of Perimeter Protection at NürnbergMesse, is looking forward to three highly exciting trade fair days: “Perimeter Protection has become very well established in recent years and has been a highlight of the industry calendar for quite some time now. We are very proud to be able to offer security experts an even more comprehensive display of mechanical and security solutions in 2020 than at previous events. This includes a very interesting supporting programme and a much greater international presence, which makes Perimeter Protection a communication-friendly industry platform that offers genuine added value. In this context I would like to express my thanks for the
close cooperation with our institutional sponsor Gütegemeinschaft Metallzauntechnik e.V. (Association of Metal Fencing Technology) and our partner VfS (Association for Security Technology).”
NEW: free specialist forum featuring high-calibre presentations by experts
Alongside the wide-ranging display of products and services another highlight this year is the new specialist forum, which is free of charge for visitors and right at the heart of the trade fair action. It has been organised in partnership with the VfS. On all three days of the event, prestigious industry experts will give valuable tips based on their practical experience and will also answer questions on the latest hot topics in the industry. Presentations on access and vehicle barriers, IoT technologies for controlling security systems, innovations in drones, detection systems, and external and integrated security solutions are just some of the highlights. You can find the detailed programme on site in the exhibition guide and online at: www.perimeter-protection.de/specialist-forum
Focus theme: drone detection and defence
In the current threat scenario, effective protection of an outdoor site does not stop with a reliable fencing systems and the latest video technology. Unmanned flying objects in our airspace represent a completely new threat situation. This is why Perimeter Protection 2020 is devoting special attention to the issue of drone detection and defence. In the floor plan, companies that offer the latest developments and solutions for the detection, elimination and neutralisation of drones are specially highlighted.
JobBoard: Perimeter Protection as a broker of qualified personnel
The Perimeter Protection JobBoard is the right port of call for job seekers who want to offer their talent and qualifications to a new employer and for companies finding it difficult to source qualified specialists with the right kind of skills and experience in this specific industry. At a central location at the trade fair, it offers participants the opportunity to look at job offers and brings job seekers together with the right kind of employers.
